I Want to book you! what is the booking process? how soon do i need to book you?

Awesome! Check out the "Pricing" tab above to look at what package will best suit your Wedding/Portrait Session, then send me the main details of your special day; location, date, how many people, etc. I will send you a contract to fill out a few more specifics to have on my end as well as outlines of your package details. ALL weddings require a 50% non-refundable deposit to hold the date for you. I would love to chat with you in person or over the phone when you're about ready to book so we can connect on a personal level instead of just over the internet.
I am taking bookings for 2020/2021 and even 2022 now. I recommend booking as soon as you have a date picked, an idea of the approximate area or a venue locked in. Not sure about a date yet? Send me an email, I can let you know weekends around your desired time that I am available.

How Will i RECEIVE the photos? will i have full rights to them?

You'll receive your photos on a USB Drive that will make it easy to copy to whatever and whoever's computer you want. You will have full rights to all photos to upload and share and print to your hearts content! It's not required but it's a bonus if you tag MWilsonWeddings as credit, I appreciate referrals, as that's what makes the world go round. I will share photos on my website and social media but I can send you a proof before I post.

How soon will i get my photos back?

Wedding Photos- I will send you 15-20 photos within 24-48 hours of the end of your wedding reception. These are for you to instantly share with family and friends, lets be honest... Aunt Gina's iphone 6 photos aren't going to be your new profile picture. If we took any photos for your thank you card's I will send you a few of those as well so you can print them quickly.
You will have your fully edited photos back 6 weeks MAX after your wedding day. This is my promise to you. It might be the longest 6 weeks of your life, but it is worth the wait! I individually go through every single photo, edit, and crop each and every one. I will priority mail them to you so you receive them as fast as possible.

Engagement/Family/Maternity Photos- You will get 3 teaser photos within 24-48 hours to hold you over, and then my average turn around is no more than 2 weeks on average. 

Do We get a wedding photo book or prints?

I HIGHLY recommend you do this on your own so you can customize your book to your own style. Luckily we live in the world of Shutterfly, Snapfish, and Costco prints. These are MUCH more affordable options than having me do it for you.  There is always a discount code floating around on at least one of these three sites. I can do it for you if you absolutely insist, but it will be an added service cost to design and will be delayed more than the delivery of digital photos.

How many photos will i get?
do i get all of the ones you take?

Weddings- The amount of photos will vary on the duration of your wedding day. For a "standard" wedding I typically am there for 10-12 hours minimum and capture start to finish of the day. This includes anywhere from 650-1000+ fully edited photos. Backyard weddings will be different than longer traditional weddings, but both will be taken just as seriously for the quality of photos. Just know that your day, how big or small will be fully captured from the start of the bridal party getting ready to you leaving the reception.

Engagement/Family/Maternity Photos- A minimum of 50 fully edited photos depending on how long our session is!

What if we have to cancel or reschedule?

If you’ve already put a deposit down to secure your date then have to move/cancel it, the deposit is legally non-refundable per our contract and a new deposit will have to be made in order to hold your new date. Saying yes to reserving your wedding day on my calendar means saying no to any other weddings on that day. I don't have back-up weddings to replace your cancellation. Let's hope that never happens and everyone lives happily ever after always!

Can I send you my photo inspirations from instagram and pinterest?

There are 2 sides to this answer so please read all of this...
1. Yes. I'm all for looking at ideas of moments you want captured on your day. Cute bridesmaid's poses? First look approaches? Funny family photos? Totally!
2. Your wedding is going to be YOUR wedding, not recreating someone else's.  It's going to be specific to you. A lot of photos that are sent to me are photos that are done at specific times of the day that don't line up with the same time line of the wedding I'm shooting. Like a sunset kiss at the end of the aisle won't work at your 2pm ceremony, BUT we can DEFINITELY get an end of the aisle kiss as long as that's something you, your partner, and me are all on the same page for to make sure we all are ready to capture that moment. Also, you're hiring me for my editing style and photographic approach, so I won't change my editing to be blown out differently. Let's create new wedding photos for others to be jealous of.

I Am NOT Photogenic, I'm Nervous About How The Photos Of Me Will Turn Out. Any Suggestions?

Don't even stress! I will let you know if you're making funky faces or if it shows that you don't know what to do with your hands. I have the great ability of making everyone feel comfortable even if you feel awkward for a little. Let's make it fun and get everyone in the picture to shake off any weirdness. I enjoy sharing photos throughout the day that really show the best side of you to help build your confidence. You'll be a pro by the end of the day! I also want you to feel at ease before the big day so it's important to stay in good communication before the wedding or portrait photo session so I feel less like a stranger when it comes to camera time.

Do you Travel or do destination weddings? what is your travel fee?

Yes, I LOVE destination weddings. I have traveled all over the world for pleasure and work and unless I'm already booked I will not turn down a destination wedding. 

There is added pricing for travel. I do not have a set standard fee as travel pricing can range for time and location and I'm not one to overcharge you and keep remaining funds. This is how I approach travel fee's: I have you pay for the flight, transportation, stay and I manage the rest. When it comes to the stay I am totally open to keeping this affordable for you. For example, I did a 2 day Yosemite wedding where the bride and groom set me up in a cabin shared with other bridal party members so I could capture everything happening that weekend. I will book my own flight and rental car though and be completely transparent with you before purchasing so there are no hidden surprises. I will require the payment for them within a week of sending you the invoice. The good news is that rental cars are fairly cheap when booked far in advance and I have 4 airports near me to check for the best pricing on flights.

Where are you based out of?

My home base is in Whatcom County, Washington for the past 3 years while also having a base in Orange County, California for the past 15 years of my business career as a photographer. 

What If You Can't Make It To Our Wedding?

In 15 years of shooting weddings, I have NEVER, and God willing never will miss a wedding. Unless I have my hands cut off, I will be there. If something were to ever happen I would have another photographer that I trust fill my position and I would edit your photos for you still. Unless of course I don't have hands, I will have someone with similar editing style edit them for you.

I Lose The Copy Of My Wedding Photos?
